Darkstorm Build - a wholesome sandbox server

Darkstorm Build has been around for almost ten years as of writing this post, with our roots going back to 2014 under the name Gunner's Build Server. We've been around long enough to know the game inside and out, and how to manage the community with it.

We have a large community with thousands of hours on the server, we have PAC3, Wiremod, and ACF 2, along with many other addons. One cool thing about our community is we allow a lot of freedom to what addons we put on the server, with a simple addon request starting that conversation.

What really sets us apart from the other build servers though, is that we focus on the quality of our community over everything else. Sure we have all the popular addons, sure we have the fastest CPU money could buy in our server (dropped $2000 building a custom one), but all that doesn't matter if we did not have a good community hosted inside of it all. So many servers have everything going, but then you get in there and it is abusive admins, or toxic regulars. We refuse to allow toxicity in our community and do everything in our power to stop it every chance we get. It is hard at times, but no matter what we would rather have a quality community than a large toxic one and that will always be our focus, and why we call ourselves a wholesome sandbox server.

Sure you can joke around and be stupid and all that, we aren't having some ridiculous set of rules or anything, but we draw the line when people make the game unenjoyable for others.


We've got several different servers spanning many different games, whether it is Team Fortress 2, Garry's Mod, or Ark Survival Evolved, we're on there. Gmod is the starting place of our community and the biggest segment for the time being though.
